Harry Maguire has shared a heartfelt message on social media to Manchester United debutant Tyler Fredricson, who impressed the England defender.
Despite putting in a solid performance alongside Victor Lindelof and Noussair Mazraoui in central defence, Fredricson couldn't prevent United from suffering a 1-0 defeat at home to Wolves on Sunday. A second-half free-kick goal from Pablo Sarabia was enough to hand Ruben Amorim's side their 15th Premier League loss of the season.
However, Fredricson was a rare beacon of hope for Amorim's team against Vitor Pereira's Wolves. The 20-year-old was called up as several key players were rested following Thursday's monumental victory over Lyon in the Europa League quarterfinals.
Maguire, who netted the winning goal against Lyon, has now sent an eight-word message to Fredricson via his Instagram story, as he penned: "Congratulations @tyler.fredricson. Brilliant debut, well done mate."
United manager Amorim commended both Fredricson and young left-wing-back Harry Amass for their performances against Wolves, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The former Sporting also boss expressed his desire for United to score more goals to give young players like Fredricson and Amass 'better memories' of their early Premier League experiences.
"I think he [Fredricson] did really well," Amorim told Sky Sports after the match. "I think also Amass played really well. We need to score goals so that the kids have better memories from their first games.
"If you look at the game, we were the better team, but in the end, it doesn't matter because if we don't score goals, nothing matters," he continued.
"In the end what counts is the result, especially in these kinds of moments. We create a lot of chances, we had a game, we control the game.
"We blocked some good players from the opponent and one set piece changes the game and that's it. It's really frustrating to end the game like this."

Next on the agenda for the lowly United is a trip to high-flying Bournemouth, though many will have eyes on the Thursday following that league clash, as the Red Devils trek to clash with Athletic Club in the first leg of their crucial Europa League semi-final.
The Basque side head to Old Trafford for the second leg a week later on May 8, and both fixtures act as Amorim's final chance of silverware – and redemption for a dismal season – in his debut campaign.
