The purpose of this article is to explain the difference between each type of statuspage, and provide guidance to help you select the right plan.

Page Types

We offer 3 “types” of status pages:

  1. Public status pages:communicate publicly with your users and customers during an incident.

  2. Private status pages: communicate privatelywith employees or internal users during an incident.

  3. Audience-specificstatus pages: communicate privately on a single page w/ unique views per user group

Each page type shares similar functionality, but there are some key differences. To help you determine which page and plan type you need, consider the following questions:

Public Status Pages (accessible by anyone)

Public status pages are the best way to communicate with your end users or customers broadly, without requiring them to login. Examples of public status pages includestatus.dropbox.com,redditstatus.com, andintercomstatus.com.

If you’re running a SaaS product, a public status page might be right for you.

Pricing

Public status page plans range from $29/mo up to $1,499 and higher for enterprise plans.

Hobby plan – $29/mo

The Hobby plan is great for small companies just getting started. If you want a simple way to communicate your system status to a small audience without the need for heavy customizations, the Hobby plan is a great place to start. The Hobby plan offers email notifications for up to 250 subscribers. If you want to send SMS or webhook notifications, you’ll need to look at the Startup plan. The Hobby plan doesn’t support any CSS, HTML, or Javascript customizations, but you can customize the page colors and do other basic design tweaks.

Startup plan – $99/mo

The Startup plan is an excellent choice for companies who have a larger audience as it includes up to 1,000 subscribers. You also get two additional notification options: SMS and webhook, as well as the ability to customize the CSS on your status page. The Startup plan is great for growing companies, as 10 team members (Statuspage administrators) are included on this plan.

Business plan – $399/mo

The Business plan is our full-featured offering with all the bells and whistles. Not only do you get 5,000 subscribers and 25 team members (Statuspage administrators), but you also get access to customize the CSS, HTML, and Javascript on your status page. A key differentiator between the Business plan and other plans is a feature we callcomponent subscriptions. This allows you to segment your incident notifications based on which components your subscribers are subscribed to.

Enterprise plan – $1499 and up

The Enterprise plan is best for large corporations who need to communicate with thousands of end users. It includes 50 team members (Statuspage administrators) and everything else the Business plan offers.

Private Status Pages (accessible by permitted users)

Private pages are great for internal corporate communication amongst a private group of employees or aprivate group of customers/clients. They include similar functionality as the public page options with one key difference:authentication.

If you’re looking for a solution for internal stakeholder comms, without letting the entire world see your system status, a private status page might be right for you.

Pricing

Private status page plans range from $79/mo up to $1499 and higher for enterprise plans.

Starter plan – $79/mo

The Starter plan is great for small teams needing to communicate with a small group of stakeholders. It supports up to 50 page users who are able to login and view the status page. Notification options include Email only. This plan does not include the ability to subscribe to individual components.

Growth plan - $249/mo

The Growth plan is a good option for mid-size or growing teams, as it supports up to 15 team members (Statuspage administrators). This plan includes up to 300 page users and includes the ability to send Email, SMS, and webhook notifications. Customization options include CSS, HTML, and Javascript whereas the Starter plan only includes custom CSS.

Corporate plan - $599/mo

The Corporate plan is best for larger organizations communicating with a significant amount of employees or clients. It supports up to 1,000 page users, 35 team members (Statuspage administrators), all notification types, and all customization types. Need to pay yearly via purchase order or invoice? You can do that on this plan too.

Enterprise plan - $1,499/mo

The enterprise plan is best for large corporations with thousands of employees or other internal stakeholders they need to communicate with. It includes 50 team members (Statuspage administrators), 5,000 page viewers, and everything else the Corporate plan offers.

Audience-specific (unique views, accessible by permitted users)

Audience-specific pages allow for end user specific status pages and notifications. This type of page lets you filter information on the status page based on permissions setup ahead of time for different groups of users. Each group of users can effectively have a unique view of the status page based on the permissions you set.

Here are some examples of when Audience-specific might be the right plan for you:

  • Customer instances are hosted on single tenant infrastructure

  • Customers are grouped together on clusters or shards

  • Internal employees need individualaccessto view a private, internal status page

Pricing

Audience-specific is priced based on the number of Groups or Users you need. Each pack includes 10 Groups and 500 Users. A Group is a subset of users who will have a specific “view” of your status page.

Pricing starts at $300/mo and incrementally increases based on the number of additional groups you need. Each pack of 10 groups comes with:

  • 25 Team Members (Statuspage administrators)

  • 500 Users

  • 30 System metrics

Supported add-on purchases

We allow you to purchase additional allocations for subscribers, team members, and metrics. For example, you might find the Startup plan is perfect, but you need 2,000 subscribers instead of the default 1,000. No worries!We support the following add-ons:

  • Subscribers: $100/mo per 1,000 extra

  • Team Members: $10/mo per team member

  • System Metrics: $5/mo per metric
